Welcome Ashley and the return of our LOCAL Page 6 Girls

By MATTHEW OSBORNE The type of Page 6 girls we want to feature at The Trentonian are not just beautiful, but they’re also young women who are going places in our local communities after their studies are complete. No one embodies all that better than Ashley Fisher.
Fisher is a Bordentown native who cheered for the Scotties during her high school days, and now she is doing the same at The College of New Jersey, where she is a senior majoring in communications (specializing in broadcast journalism) with a minor in psychology. She aspires to be a broadcast journalist, maybe even hosting an entertainment show. “I’d love to do something with E! or Extra,” Fisher said. “I wouldn’t mind doing sports reporting either, maybe with football or basketball.” Fisher has long participated in competitive dancing and cheerleading, including at TCNJ, where the Lions’ squad finished fourth at nationals last year. “I’ve been modeling since I was 13,” Fisher said. “I was at a state dance competition, and they brought me aside and asked me if I’d be interested in modeling some of their competition wear. So I started doing shoots for catalogs that go to dance studios that go all over the country, and it kind of took off from there.” Fisher has done all sorts of professional modeling, but her proudest moment came when she did a commercial for Burlington Chevrolet. The commercial was aired during a New York Yankees game at a time when she and bunch of other patrons were watching the game at Chickie’s and Pete’s in Bordentown. “We were sitting there and it came on all of the TVs at once,” she said. “Everybody did four double takes and they asked if it was me. The whole restaurant seemed distracted by it, which was an awesome feeling.” Fisher said she loves horseback riding, going out on the town, or even just curling up with a good book. As for the future, the sky’s the limit. “I want to take modeling and acting as far it takes me, and I think they go hand in hand with broadcast journalism in terms of the great connections you can make,” Fisher said. “That along with the degree I am getting is going to serve me well for my future.” Fisher said she is proud to kick off this new era of Page 6 girls. “My girlfriend was in it (Page 6) last summer and I’ve always wanted to do it,” she said. “College Mansion has some of the prettiest girls around here so it will be great to see all those girls in The Trentonian, too.”
